Jubilee Community Group would like to thank the businesses and individuals who donated to its event, which was held on Nov. 9, 2013 at Saint Michaels Episcopal Church in Naugatuck. The sponsors’ donations have helped to support the group’s mission to begin a program designed to prevent violence in individuals and communities.

All of the volunteers at this event worked together in a cohesive effort and eloquently prepared the venue. Jubilee’s member Sherrie Ramos blessed the food at the event with a thankful prayer.

I would like to make an honorable mention to the generous donations of the following ethnic restaurants: Brenda’s Kitchen & Deli, Chiangmai Thai Restaurant, Vincenzo’s Pizzeria, Pasta Gallery, Nardelli’s Grinder Shoppe, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunya International Market & Deli and the Naugatuck Portuguese Club.

I would like to thank the many businesses throughout the neighboring communities that have given generous donations to support our program these business are the following: The Curtis House Connecticut Oldest Inn Woodbury, YMCA Naugatuck and Amazing Retreat Therapeutic Massage, LLC in Naugatuck. Additional raffle prizes were given by numerous local businesses, such an outpouring of support from the local businesses to support this new grass root program to stop violence amongst the youth. A special thanks to Diana Herbert of Kassie Belle Bows for her donations of an angel bow hanger, a basket and many beautiful bows. Door Prizes were floral arrangements provided Terri’s Flower Shop and O’Rourke & Birch Florists. Crosby community volunteer Douaa Abdulrazak decorated the hall with the theme of the event “Many cultures one nation.”

Her posters were a representation of the world. She also designed flags, which were displayed next to every ethnic dish. Douaa Abdulrazak’s belief in the mission of this new organization, whose aim is to prevent violence, inspired this young girl to design a logo and a brochure. Naugatuck High School community volunteers Isabella Sciarappa and Mallory Pinto provided catering services. Additional catering services were provided by Donna Marie Ligouri, Sharon Amos, Debbie S. and William Byrne. The raffle committee consisted of former members from Freight Street Gallery: Diane, John, Michael and Dustin

I would like to make mention of the following individuals who provided musical entertainment throughout the night. Joel Shirk played classical melodies on the grand piano, barbershop quartet “No Time Flat,” Four Tuxedoes sang an Irish blessing, Christian Music, “Sigh8” features a mother and son duet. Mother Kerin Arsencio, and son Nik Jericho lifted everyone’s mood and they harmonized to popular upbeat dance tunes.  The feature band, “Grey Negative,” students from Cheshire High School, are Matt Rosano (bass) Alex Fumo (lead and rhythm guitar), Gavin Malloy (lead singer and key boards), Sean Connoly (drum player and backup singer.) These talented musicians began with unplugged music and progressed into hard rock, ending the night with the classic from The Doors, “When The Music’s Over.”
