It is hard to believe that the summer is coming to an end already. As I write this today, we have finally had a break in the humid weather and my air conditioning is off and the windows are open. It gets me in the mood for fall soccer. We hope that you are ready for soccer (and registered) as well.
Coaches please be sure to check our website for information about coaches meeting, scheduling, etc. Tentatively we have set the date for Rec team selection for Aug. 13 and Aug. 14 and Coaches Clinic Aug. 20 and Aug. 21. We will have this information finalized at our August meeting on Aug. 6. As a reminder, our website is prospectsoccer.grupo.la /and you can also “like us” on Facebook to receive updates as well.
Our Fall Rec season will run from Sept. 8 through Oct. 27. We will once again be taking advantage of the fields at the Pent Road Recreation Complex in Beacon Falls. These fields are in great condition and give a much needed break to the fields at Hotchkiss in Prospect. We will be at Pent Road for weeks one, three, five, and seven.
If you haven’t signed up for any of our soccer camps there’s still time. Visit our website to register for WRHS soccer camp Aug. 13 to 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hotchkiss Field. This camp is for players entering third grade to players entering eighth grade. We hope you take advantage of this great program.
PYS would like to extend a big thank you to Shannon Kotsaftis and Rob Phalen. Shannon has volunteered to take on the position of snack shack coordinator and Rob has volunteered to help with the design of our website. Thank you to both of you for your time and dedication to PYS.
Once again, remember that this is a voting year for the Prospect Youth Soccer Board. We are always looking for parents and coaches to get involved. All positions on the board will be up for nomination and we currently have the field coordinator position vacant. We are also looking for camp coordinator to oversee the summer camp programs offered through PYS.
