NAUGATUCK—Naugatuck Discovery’s next Parent Toolbox workshop will look to shine some light on “What’s in your lunchbox.”

The workshop, which will be held May 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria of Prospect Street Preschool, will focus on healthy nutrition for children.

Catherine O’Donnell-Murphy, food service manager with Sodexo Food Service, will discuss healthy food choices, how to get nutritious foods in the “picky” child and the Naugatuck school system’s breakfast/lunch and the free and reduced programs.

Edy McClure, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator, will talk about healthy and simple family dinner choices and provide the opportunity to sample a simple meal.

Naugatuck Discovery is a local collaborative with a focus on helping children succeed by strengthening the community of families, individuals and organizations who nurture and educate Naugatuck children from birth to age 8.

“What’s in your lunchbox” is free, but pre-registration by April 27 is required. To register call (203) 729-1564 or e-mail Naugatuckdiscovery@yahoo.com. Leave your name and number and someone will return the call to confirm registration details.
