BEACON FALLS — St. Michael Church will usher in autumn with its 3rd annual Fall Festival.

The festival is Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the church, 25 Maple Ave. The festival is a fun, affordable day for the whole family, said Susan Cable, who co-chairs the festival with Marion Bradley.

The festival features activities throughout the day, including crafters, vendors, a farmers market, nine holes of mini golf and a bungee run for children. There are also special events planned, like a petting zoo from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and horse-drawn hayrides from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

There is no admission cost and many of the activities are free. The cost for mini golf is $5 per person and $20 per family. The bungee run costs $2.

The St. Michael Church Men’s Club will be selling food. For the first time, the menu will include lobster rolls.

“It’s a good community event to come to,” Cable said.

The church is also selling raffle tickets for $2 each. The grand prize is a $500 Visa gift card. Four $100 gift cards to local businesses will also be raffled off.

All of the proceeds from the festival go directly to the church, including helping to pay for ongoing renovations to the church lyceum, Cable said. The lyceum is used by community groups in town as well as the church.

The Fall Festival was born out of the church’s annual Four Seasons Country Fair, which ran until two years ago. The festival started as a way to reinvigorate the fair, Cable said.

“The community has responded very well to it,” she said.
