Beacon Falls is tidying up the last remnants of Tropical Storm Irene.

A drop-off location at the Public Works Department for brush and natural debris will remain open this weekend in Beacon Falls, according to First Selectman Susan Cable.

Cable said four hour shifts of a two-man team will work over the weekend to clean up remaining debris along the roads. She said the town is trying to keep expenses down while staying on top of clean up efforts.

Friday morning, 17 houses were still without power in Beacon Falls, but they should be hooked up by this afternoon, according to First Selectman Susan Cable.

She said one sewer pump station on West Road is still running on a generator, but workers are attending to it now.

Cable said the town hasn’t tabulated its numbers yet for the cost of Tropical Storm Irene, but expects to submit paperwork for FEMA reimbursement soon.

Households can report personal damages by calling 211, Cable said.
