BEACON FALLS — The Katharine Matthies Foundation recently awarded the Beacon Falls Public Library a $5,000 grant to use for the Beacon Falls Youth Theater Group.
“We are extremely thankful to the Matthies Foundation’s support, which will allow us to purchase sound equipment and additional microphones so the children can be heard on stage,” Beacon Falls Library Director Sue Dowdell said in a press release.
The theater group, which was formed in 2016, is co-sponsored by the library and the Beacon Falls Parks and Recreation Commission. The group is preparing for its fourth production, “Peter Pan Jr.,” which will be held on May 31 and June 1 at Woodland Regional High School.
