Letter: Conroy makes smart fiscal decisions

To the editor,

I am writing to support Theresa Conroy’s re-election as state representative for the 105th District. This past year was a difficult one for the Connecticut budget, and our fiscal problems are far from over, but Theresa proved that she will fight to protect the funding our district deserves.

Theresa fiercely opposed cuts to Connecticut hospitals, which would have been devastating to Griffin Hospital. She voted in favor of a budget deficit mitigation plan that restored the Medicaid reimbursement payments to hospitals, preventing a potential $728,516 loss for Griffin Hospital.

Theresa makes smart decisions informed by a solid understanding of what we need to move Connecticut forward. With 2017 predicted to be another trying budget year, she is the person we need in Hartford representing our interests. It’s clear that changes need to be made, but essential institutions like hospitals and local schools must also be protected.

Theresa works hard for our district, and we can count on her to make our voices heard in Hartford over the next two years. Her record of thoughtful decision-making is worthy of another term as our state representative.
