Letter: Residents just want to be treated fairly

To the editor,

The residents and citizens of Chatfield Farms contribute over $l million, collectively, in property tax income to the town of Beacon Falls annually. We cost the town nothing in the form of services. We plow our own streets, pay for our own garbage removal and don’t have children to educate in the school system.

We don’t deserve the disparaging remarks made by two members of the Board of Finance that appeared in the June 9 issue of the Citizen News. We don’t want “everyone in town to suffer” as one Board of Finance member said. We just want to be treated fairly, like him and everyone else in town.
