NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck is offering Home Energy Solutions, an Energize Connecticut program, for a limited time at no cost to up to the first 42 homeowners to sign up.

Under the program, representatives from IRS Building and Remodeling, an authorized and insured contractor, will visit homes and make spot improvements intended to lower energy bills.

During the visit, the average household receives about $1,000 in products and services, including, on an on-site energy assessment of their home, air sealing to get rid of drafts and cold spots, and safety tests of heating equipment, a press release stated.

The cost to participate is normally $175, but the borough is using funds from a Bright Idea grant to pay the fee for up to the first 42 residents that call and sign up by Jan. 15. The remaining cost is covered through Energize Connecticut.

For information or to sign up, call IRS Building and Remodeling at 203-729-0403. For information on more Energize Connecticut programs, call 1-877-947-3873.
