NAUGATUCK — Winifred “Freddie” Cyr Porriciello passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, Nov. 11, 2018 at Beacon Brook after a short illness.
Winifred was born on Jan. 7, 1927 in a small village in Allagash, Maine to William and Alice (Walker) Hughes. Winifred was the last of 17.
She leaves a daughter, Judy Murtha and her companion, Joe Heston; a grandson, Ron Murtha and great-grandson, Matthew, all of Naugatuck, along with daughter, Donna Clowes and family who reside in NB Canada; a granddaughter, Emily Cyr Wetzel, husband, Brandon, and their children, Charles and Eleanor, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Daniel Cyr and Johnny Porriciello.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. at Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours, and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
