NAUGATUCK — A 56-year-old Naugatuck man suffered minor injuries and is facing several charges after crashing his pickup truck near the intersection of Webb and Jones roads Sunday night.

Police said the one-car crash occurred at about 10:15 p.m. when Patrick Walsh failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the side of Webb Road in his 1991 GMC Sierra K1500. Police said the pickup truck struck a tree and rolled over.

Firefighters had to free Walsh from the wreckage, police said.

Police said Walsh was taken to Waterbury Hospital for minor injuries and subsequently charged with driving under the influence and other motor vehicle violations.

While officers were booking him, police said Walsh did not cooperate and threatened officers. Police additionally charged him with second-degree threatening and interfering with an officer. Walsh was also arrested on an outstanding PRAWN warrant for violation of probation, police said.

Walsh was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Monday.
