Police responded to the gas station at 68 Waterbury Road at about 8:45 p.m. after receiving a panic alarm, a press release stated.

State police said two men walked into the gas station, and one of them pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The gun had numerous scratches on the slide, police said.

Police said the men stole over $100 from the clerk and about $800 worth of Newport cigarettes. They fled the store on foot toward Scott Road, police said. Police searched the area with canine teams but couldn’t locate the suspects.

No injuries were reported.
