BEACON FALLS — The Board of Selectmen made several appointments at its Dec. 12 meeting to fill empty seats on the Board of Finance and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Democrat James Huk was appointed to the finance board to fill the seat of former Board of Finance Chair Chris Bielik, who left the board after voters elected him to the Board of Selectman this November.

Bielik originally nominated former Selectman Art Daigle to fill his position, but the nomination did not receive a second. Daigle had run for town treasurer in the November elections, but lost to former Republican Selectman Michael Krenesky.

The Board of Selectmen also appointed Republican Marc Bronn to another vacant seat on the finance board. As for the Zoning Board of Appeals, the selectmen appointed Carl Gandarillas to the board and Nancy King as an alternate.
