Student charged after pushing teacher

NAUGATUCK — A 16-year-old Naugatuck High School student was arrested after police said he pushed a teacher.

Police said the school resource officer responded to a disturbance in a classroom on Tuesday. Police said the student was uncooperative with a teacher and pushed the teacher. He continued to disrupt other students with yelling and swearing, police reported.

The student was charged with breach of peace and given a court date of Jan. 28 to appear at Waterbury Juvenile Court. He was released to his mother.
