Whittemore features Watertown artist’s work

WhittemoreLibraryNAUGATUCK — During the month of December, the Whittemore Library is featuring the artwork of Susan Kelley Coppola. 

Coppola, a Watertown resident, studied art at Southern Connecticut State University and Naugatuck Valley Community College where and has taken additional courses with at Artsplace in Cheshire. Coppola enjoys painting “en plain aire,” the subject of her landscapes suggesting many different locales including Cape Cod and the Maine coast.  This artist describes her work as “simple and evocative,” it features “simple shapes that suggest detail while incorporating vibrant colors to convey a sense of empathy,” according to a press release issued by the library.

This month’s exhibit can be viewed on the Whittemore Gallery Wall during regular library hours. For more information, call the library at (203) 729-4591.
