Woman robs People’s Bank in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK — Police are investigating a mid-afternoon bank robbery in the borough.

At about 2:45 p.m. Saturday a woman wearing a red wig demanded money from a teller at the People’s Bank in Stop & Shop at the Mountview Plaza on Rubber Avenue, police said. The woman, who was described as white and about 5 feet 6 inches tall, left with an undisclosed amount of money.

No weapons were shown and no injuries were reported, police said.

The woman was seen leaving the plaza in a silver-colored Saturn driven by a white man wearing sunglasses, police said. The couple drove off east on Field Street.

No images were available of the suspects as of this post.
