NAUGATUCK — Albert R. Juliano, 88, of 36 Florence St., passed away on Monday August 29, 2011 at the VITAS Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family. He was husband of Rose (Reale) Juliano.

Mr. Juliano was born in Waterbury on June 22, 1923, son of the late Albert and Olga (Aceto) Juliano. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School class of 1941, and he resided in Naugatuck for 64 years.

He joined the U. S. Navy and was stationed in the Pacific on the U.S.S. Ranger. Albert was a former fourth degree Knight of Columbus, Ojeda Council. He was an avid golfer and member of the Farmingbury Golf Club and also a member of the Naugatuck Elks, Lodge 967. He was employed in the System Engineers Department of the Chemical Division of Uniroyal, Inc. for 30 years.

In addition to his beloved wife Rose of 64 years, he is survived by his son, A. Robert Juliano, Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Farmington; his daughter, Nancy Juliano Harkness and her husband Stephen of Foxboro, Mass.; his three grandsons, Eric, Mark and Sean; his two sisters, Eleanor McLarney of Mystic and Alma O’Brien of Louisville, Ky.; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved cats, Molly and Bailey.

He was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia Dumouchel.

His funeral will be held on Friday, September 2, at 10:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck for a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Members of the Naugatuck Veteran’s Council will assemble at 7:15 p.m.
