NAUGATUCK — Carolyn (Sargeant) Wilcox, 88, the widow of Robert Wilcox, passed away on May 10, 2020, at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Wilcox was born on June 5, 1931, in Union City, the daughter of the late Elliot and Helen (McDermott) Sargeant, and had lived in Union City and Naugatuck all of her life. She worked at Uniroyal and retired as a school cafeteria worker for the borough of Naugatuck, Board of Education.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Wilcox and her fiancé, Michael Chilinski, Carolyn Starziski and her fiancé, Sam Wren, Tricia Wilcox, Dennis Wilcox and his wife, Nadia, and Casey Wilcox; her grandchildren, Kelly Hiltz and her husband, Geoff Hiltz, Shannon L. Wilcox and her husband, Bill Cook, Bridgette Wilcox, Brian Chilinski, Robert Wilcox and Nathan Starziski; her great-grandchildren, Charlie, Madison and Connor; her brother, Fred Sargeant; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Wilcox was predeceased by her sons, Bobby Wilcox and Tommy Wilcox; her granddaughter, Carrie Wilcox; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Wilcox; and her beloved dog of 13 years, Gizzy.
Services will be private, there are no calling hours and burial will be in St. James Cemetery. A memorial Mass will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
