Juliann C. (Moore) Murphy

NAUGATUCK — Juliann C. (Moore) Murphy peacefully passed into eternal rest while surrounded by family and loved ones on Sept. 25, 2019, after a brief illness. She was the wife of James H. Murphy Jr.

She is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Jane (Moore) Dimasso (Ralph) and Rosemary (Dowling) O’Malley (Ed); children, Edward F. (Ted), Sheila Ann (Daniel Allard), and de facto daughter, Nancy (Moran) Carlson; grandchildren, Kyle, Timothy, Catherineand Michelle (Sean Brunnelle) Murphy and Megan and Dylan Carlson; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Caleb Brunnelle; her beloved yorkie, Dianna; along with many nephews and nieces. Juliann has rejoined family that predeceased her, husband, James H. Murphy Jr.; parents, Richard Moore, Veronica (Cahill, Moore) Dowling; and stepfather, James Dowling; siblings, Maureen (Dowling) Marzano (Michael), Kathleen Dowling and James (Buddy) Dowling; and children, Michael Richard and Thomas Patrick.

Juliann was born in Waterbury and graduated from Sacred Heart High School but then became a lifelong resident of Naugatuck. Over 79 years, she dedicated her life to her family but was also involved in many civic and volunteer organizations that involved her children and grandchildren, most notably St. Francis of Assisi School, Peter J. Foley Little League and the Elks Club.

At this time of profound grief, the family asks for privacy. Per Jule’s instructions, there will be no calling hours. A private Catholic burial at St. James Cemetery will take place for the immediate family at their convenience. For those who wish to pay their respects, a memorial mass will be held at a later date at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Arrangements to be provided by the Kelly-Brennan Funeral Home, 768 Baldwin St., Waterbury.
