Richard Francis 'Ricky' Lenkowski Jr.

WINSTED — Richard Francis “Ricky” Lenkowski, Jr., 47, of 64 Torringford Road, left us to join his family on Tuesday, May 31, at Hartford Hospital after a courageous and determined battle with a ten-year illness. He was husband of Martha Jane (Edwards) Lenkowski.

Ricky was born in Waterbury on Sept. 19, 1963, son of the late Richard Francis Lenkowski, Sr. and Rose L (Lasprogata) Lenkowski. He had lived most of his life in Middlebury and the past 20 years in Winsted. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and Central Connecticut State University. Ricky enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, woodworking, cooking and history. He was never happier than when he was with his family and friends enjoying a home cooked meal. He left us too soon and he will be missed always.

Besides his beloved wife of 17 years, he leaves his brother, David A. Lenkowski of Middlebury; his aunt and uncle, Robert and Antoinette Lenkowski of Naugatuck; his mother and father-in-law, Hal and Jan Edwards of New Hartford; his sister-in-law, Sara Taylor; his brothers-in-law, Glenn Edwards and Dana Edwards; several cousins including Michael Lenkowski of Middlebury and Elizabeth Walls of Suwanee, Georgia; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs, Bosco and Grommit.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Harvest Baptist Church, New Hartford. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck.
