Rosemary (Ciampi) O’Toole

NAUGATUCK — Rosemary (Ciampi) O’Toole, 79, beloved wife of John O’Toole, passed away peacefully at Glendale Health Center on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on October 23, 1940, she was the daughter of Anthony and Rose (Destefano) Ciampi. Rose was a longtime Naugatuck resident and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. She retired from the borough of Naugatuck after working at the town hall for many years as switchboard operator and was affectionately known as the “voice of Naugatuck.” She was a member of the Kollege Kapers where she had served as treasurer. Rosemary was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She loved vacationing on Cape Cod and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, John, of 54 years; her brothers-in-law, Andrew O’Toole and his wife, Claire, of Canton, Mass., and James O’Toole of Naugatuck; her sister-in-law, Mary Beth Hanks and her husband, Ken, of Naugatuck; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

Funeral services will be private, and burial will be in St. James Cemetery. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
