Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Brien Matecki, 35, of 29 Salem St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 26 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 26 at approximately 12:34 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Church Street. Police reported Matecki was identified as the operator of the vehicle and found to be wanted on an active arrest warrant. Matecki was given a court date of Oct. 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $3,000 surety bond.

Todd Skeens, 23, of 177 Prindle Ave., Ansonia, was charged Sept. 26 with reckless driving and engaging police in pursuit.

Police reported on Sept. 26 Skeens was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a motor vehicle investigation that occurred on Aug. 23, 2018. Police reported officers responded to Route 8 near the Naugatuck/Beacon Falls border for a reckless driver complaint. The Officers located Skeens, who refused to stop his vehicle, police reported. Police reported Skeens drove in a reckless manner to avoid being stopped by the officers. He was given a court date of Oct. 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 surety bond.

John P. Jacobsen, 30, of 145 Glenn St., New Britain, was charged Sept. 26 with criminal impersonation.

Police reported on Sept. 26 Jacobsen was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for motor vehicle investigation on June 6, 2018. During a motor vehicle investigation, police reported, Jacobsen provided a false name and date of birth to the officer. Jacobsen was given a court date of Oct. 11 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.

Jill Anderson-Mongillo, 46, of 246 East Waterbury Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 26 with driving under the influence.

Police reported on Sept. 26 at approximately 11:11 p.m. an officer responded to an evading motor vehicle accident on East Waterbury Road. There were no injuries reported. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Anderson-Mongillo was operating under the influence of alcohol. Anderson-Mongillo was given a court date of Oct. 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.

Dzevat Jusuf, 61, of 2 Branch Road, Thomaston, was charged Sept. 27 with driving under the influence and drinking while driving.

Police reported on Sept. 27 Jusuf was observed sitting in a parked car consuming beer while seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle off of North Main Street. Upon contact with Jusuf, police reported, it was determined that he was displaying signs of intoxication and was tested utilizing field sobriety tests. Based on observations of the operator and results of the testing, police reported, Jusuf was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Jusuf was released on bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 11.

Miguel Miranda, 40, of 933 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 28 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 28 at approximately 6:38 p.m. an officer responded to Walmart for a larceny complaint. Police reported Miranda stole $34 worth of merchandise and left the store. Miranda was located on Cherry Street, where the officer stopped the vehicle and he was taken into custody, police reported. Miranda was given a court date of Oct. 10 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

Wayne Zabilski, 39, was charged Oct. 1 with two counts of sale of certain illegal drugs, two counts possession of controlled substance and first-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 1 Zabilski was arrested on an active arrest warrants. One warrant was for a narcotic investigation. Based on the investigation, police reported, it was determined Zabilski was distributing narcotics. Zabilski was given a court date of Oct. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held for arraignment.

Anajai Mtume, 18, of 101 Trowbridge Place, Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 1 with three counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 1 Mtume turned himself in on active arrest warrants. Mtume was given a court date of Oct. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set $2,500 surety bond.

Danilo Curillo, 35, of 56 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged Oct. 2 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Oct. 2 at approximately 7:18 a.m. Curillo turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Curillo was given a court date of Oct. 2 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and surety bond was set at $500.

Maxwell Bauscher, 30, of 30 Mansfield Drive, Northford, was charged Oct. 2 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Oct. 2 an officer responded to a violation of a protective order. Police reported Bauscher contacted the victim through email, which was in violation of the order. Bauscher was given a court date of Oct. 3 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $30,000 surety bond.
