Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

David Balek, 42, of 54 Orange Terrace, West Haven, was charged April 8 with fifth-degree larceny.

Police reported on April 8 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from an incident where the accused illegally concealed less than $500 worth of merchandise and exit a store without paying for items. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 20.

Daniel Christian Jackson, 37, of 24 Golden Court 2 South, Naugatuck, was charged April 8 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on April 8 at approximately 8:18 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated. According to the victim, police reported, the accused threw a bottle of alcohol at the victim which missed and broke a mirror. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 9.

Kyler A. Cottrell, 33, of 186 Lakeview Ave. Apt. B2., New Canaan, was charged April 8 with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported on April 8 at approximately 11:18 a.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a suspicious motor vehicle in the parking area. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found in the vehicle in the parking area in possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 10.

Tiago Lima, 23, of 55 Sheffield Lane, Naugatuck, was charged April 8 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on April 8 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $150 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 3.

Michelle M. Lillis, 49, of 869 Maple Hill Road, Naugatuck, was charged April 8 with misuse of emergency 911-false alarm and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on April 8 at approximately 8:01 p.m. officers were dispatched to 260 Spring St. for a complaint. Through the officers’ investigation, police reported, it was found that the accused had called the department claiming her neighbor was being assaulted or possibly killed on the 911 line multiple times. Police reported the officer followed up with the neighbor to find that the neighbor was OK and being harassed by the accused. Police reported the officer found that this was not the first incident where the accused has harassed the neighbor. Police reported the accused was advised on several occasions to leave the neighbor alone by officers. Police reported the accused did not comply and escalated the situation with false 911 calls. Police reported the accused, prior to the calls, was also recorded by the neighbor banging on the door and yelling for the neighbor. The accused was released on promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 3.

Christopher Olivera Mendes, 30, of 1024 Highland Ave., Waterbury, was charged April 9 with failure to respond to infraction.

Police reported on April 9 the accused was arrested on an active failure to respond to an infraction arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $100 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 3.

Joshua Barr, 25, of 701 Beacon Valley Road Apt. 2, Naugatuck, was charged April 10 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, drinking while driving and third-degree trespass.

Police reported on April 10 at approximately 1:03 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation on Cross Street inside the area of Saint James Cemetery. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be drinking while operating a motor vehicle and under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Police reported the accused was also trespassing at the time of the incident. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on May 6.

Nelson Manuel Cruz, 37, of 24 Goodyear Ave. U2, Naugatuck, was charged April 10 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Police reported on April 10 at approximately 5:54 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Pond Street and Rubber Avenue. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs while failing to drive in the proper lane. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 24.

Justin D. Leary, 39, of 130 Thunderbird Drive, Naugatuck, was charged April 10 with risk of injury to child, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace.

Police reported on April 10 at approximately 6:11 p.m. officers responded to a report of a dispute at a residence. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated. Police reported the accused was yelling and making threats with a metal pipe in front of two juveniles, which caused a scene. Police reported the accused was trying to get the victim to fight him in front of the residence. Police reported the accused also kicked the driver side door of the victim’s car during the incident. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 13.

Kelly Ann Cable, 43, of 78 Svea Ave. Apt. F2, Naugatuck, was charged April 12 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on April 12 at approximately 5:23 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused struck the victim in the face with a closed fist. The accused was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 13.

Carley Grace Dupaul, 20, of 46 Pond St. Apt. basement, Naugatuck, was charged April 14 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police reported on April 14 officers responded to a domestic disturbance between family members. During the incident, police reported, subjects stated they became involved in an argument that turned physical when the accused threw a cell phone at the victim striking the victim in the forehead which caused a minor injury. The accused was released on bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on April 15.

Michael John McCarron, 55, of 222 Bradley Ave. Apt. 1D, Waterbury, was charged April 14 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on April 14 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $1,000 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on June 4.

Jesie Alexander Rojas, 24, of 237 Sylvan St., Bridgeport, was charged April 14 with two counts of violation of probation.

Police reported on April 14 the accused was arrested on probation violations. The accused released on non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on June 3.

Sandra Norton, 47, of 13 Rowland Drive, prospect, was charged March 27 with disorderly conduct and April 13 with violation of restraining order.

Alexander Carneiro, 26, of 80 Lantern Park Drive, Naugatuck, was charged April 5 with interfering with an officer/resisting and second-degree breach of peace.
