Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:
Gerald Michael Rivera, 22, of 72 Villagewood Drive A2, Waterbury, was charged June 22 with third-degree assault.
Police reported on June 22 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was issued due to the accused assaulting another patron at the Xpress Fuel Mart, 620 Church St., with another person who was also arrested. The accused was released on a $2,500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 5.
Laila Maria Nazario-Sanchez, 26, of 150 Mark Lane Apt. L1, Waterbury, was charged June 22 with third-degree assault.
Police reported on June 22 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was issued due to the accused assaulting another patron at the Xpress Fuel Mart, 620 Church St., with another person who was also arrested. The accused was released on a $2,500 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 5.
Edward J. Raimo, 35, of 20 LeClair Court, Naugatuck, was charged June 22 with second-degree failure to appear.
Police reported on June 22 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 29.
Abby Rose Mucciacciaro, 20, of 36 Harrison Drive, Wolcott, was charged June 23 with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
Police reported on June 22 at approximately 11:55 p.m. officers were dispatched to an assault complaint. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was involved in a verbal argument with the victim that escalated. Police reported it was found that the accused assaulted the victim with another female causing injuries to the victim. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 4.
Gianna Lagasse, 21, of 811 South St., Middlebury, was charged June 23 with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
Police reported on June 22 at approximately 11:55 p.m. officers were dispatched to an assault complaint. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was involved in a verbal argument with the victim that escalated. Police reported it was found that the accused assaulted the victim with another female causing injuries to the victim. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 4.
Paul E. Arroyo-Velez, 47, of 174 Pearl St., Waterbury, was charged June 23 with second-degree failure to appear.
Police reported on June 23 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 15.
Michael Chandler, 58, of 383 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged June 23 with second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree breach of peace and evading responsibility-injury/property damage.
Police reported on June 23 at approximately 5:29 p.m. the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the accused was arrested due to an evading a motor vehicle accident complaint that occurred on Jan. 18, 2020. The accused was released on $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 30.
Mark Fonseca-Ash, 32, of 47 Gaplin St., Naugatuck, was charged June 23 with second-degree failure to appear.
Police reported on June 23 the accused was arrested on an active failure to appear arrest warrant. The accused was released on a $500 cash bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 24.
Brian Lavertue, 36, of 74 Cliff St., Naugatuck, was charged June 23 with assault of public safety or emergency medical personnel, second-degree breach of peace, illegal operation or motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, drinking while driving, interfering with an officer/resisting and illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.
Police reported on June 23 at approximately 8:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Naugatuck Police Department, 211 Spring St., on an intoxicated person in the lobby area.
Police reported dispatchers stated the accused was causing a scene in the lobby of the department by yelling obscenities and using inappropriate language after being asked to wait for an officer. Police reported once officers confronted the accused he became even more agitated and took a fighting stance wanting the officers to fight him. Police reported the officers observed that the accused was intoxicated and saw him exit his vehicle on
CCTV in the front lot of the station. With this known they tried to take the accused into custody. Police reported the accused fought with officers and was eventually taken into custody. Police reported further investigation showed the accused had open containers in his vehicle, and had a suspended license. The accused was held on a $25,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 24.
Michael Anthony Heathcote, 24, of 204 Elizabeth St., Derby, was charged June 23 with disorderly conduct and violation or protective order.
Police reported on June 23 at approximately 10:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to an undisclosed location on a domestic violence complaint. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was involved in a verbal argument with the victim that escalated. Police reported the argument caused a scene but was not physical. Police reported the officer found that the accused was not allowed to be around the victim per an active protective order. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 24.
Adam Dicicco, 29, of 210 Bluebird Drive, Naugatuck, was charged June 24 with interfering with an officer, illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, reckless driving and failure to drive in proper lane.
Police reported on June 24 at 12:51 a.m. officers were dispatched to the Prospect Street Bridge near its intersection with Bridge Street for a report of a one-vehicle accident. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, it was found that the accused was operating his motor vehicle in a reckless manner causing skid marks in the roadway. Police reported the accused then lost control of his vehicle striking a guardrail and causing disabling damage to the guardrail and his vehicle. Police reported officers found that the accused was severely intoxicated at the scene. Police reported officers found that the accused was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, while failing to drive in the established lane. Police reported the accused was uncooperative throughout his arrest and resisted officers during processing. The accused was released on $500.00 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 6.
John M. Hanson, 40, of 190 Highland Ave., Torrington, was charged June 25 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis.
Police reported on June 25 at approximately 11:23 p.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Old Firehouse Road and Rubber Avenue. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 6.
Matthew Lewonczyk, 24, of 325 Farmington Ave., New Britain, was charged June 26 with third-degree assault, risk of injury to child, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on June 26 the accused was arrested on an active domestic arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was issued due to the accused being involved in a domestic incident with the victim which was reported to this department on June 14, 2020. The accused was held on a $20,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 26.
Tashaonna Shonta Sledge, 20, of 60 Admiral Road, New Haven, was charged June 27 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.
Police reported on June 27 officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1100 New Haven Road, on a report of a shoplifting from the store. Police reported loss prevention advised that they observed, with an accomplice, the accused illegally conceal $187.98 worth of merchandise and exit the store without paying for items. The accused was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 22.
Briana Theresa Donovan, 22, of 443 Congress Ave., Waterbury, was charged June 27 with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Mark A. Northrop, 29, of 66 Forest St., Naugatuck, was charged June 27 with failure to respond to infraction.
Police reported on June 27 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant for failing to respond to a ticket. The accused was released on a $92 cash bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 5.
Dionna Patience Sergi, 26, of 348 High St., Naugatuck, was charged June 28 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis, illegal operation or motor vehicle under suspension and improper use of high beam light.
Police reported on June 28 at approximately 1:44 a.m. an officer initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of South Main Street by Al’s Hotdogs. Through the officer’s investigation, police reported, the accused was found to be improperly using high beams, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license while in possession of a controlled substance. The accused was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 22.
Mark Allan Daubert, 41, of 222 Bradley Ave. Apt. 2-B, Waterbury, June 28 with third-degree intimidate due to bias, traveling unreasonably fast, traffic control signals, engaging police in pursuit, operating motorcycle without endorsement, first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace.
Police reported on June 28 at approximately 1:45 a.m. Naugatuck police responded to the area of 66 Church St. for a threatening complaint. After officers spoke to the victims, police reported, it was found that the victims were threatened to be shot and called multiple racial slurs. Police reported the accused fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. The victims called the police for fear of their safety. Sometime later an officer spotted the accused, police reported, and the officer tried to initiate a traffic stop. Police reported the accused fled the scene and tried to engage officers in pursuit. Police reported the accused then fled to his residence in Waterbury. Through further investigation, police reported, officers were able to identify the accused. Police reported they then responded to his residence in Waterbury. While at the residence, police reported, the accused used more racial slurs and lied about his whereabouts, which the officers found through investigation was not truthful. The accused was held on a $100,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 29.
Essence Shawnte Halloway, 24, of 68 Bassett St., New Haven, was charged June 28 with failure to respond to payable violation.
Police reported on June 28 the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant for failing to respond to a ticket. The accused was released on a $150 cash bond to appear in Milford Superior Court on Aug. 3.
Nelson Delgado, 37, of 150 Manhan St. Apt. 4-4, Waterbury, was charged June 28 with risk of injury to child, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on June 28 at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers arrested the accused on an active domestic arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was from a domestic incident where officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused punched the victim in the face several times and then fled from the residence. The accused was released on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 29.
