Mo’s Moments

Stuffing the stat sheet

Woodland junior Hana Bojka has shown lately she got game. In last Wednesday’s 58-35 win over Watertown, Bojka posted a triple double with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Making a presence

Naugatuck freshman Alyssa Roberts has been giving the Greyhounds some quality minutes. Last Wednesday, in a close 44-41 win over Ansonia, Roberts was the second-leading scorer with eight points to help Naugy secure the win.

Leading by example

Woodland senior Haley Andrews is not only a captain on the young Hawks’ team, she is a bona fide scoring threat. Andrews led the Hawks to a 58-35 win over Wilby last Wednesday with a game-high 21 points.

Shooter’s touch

Naugatuck junior Shannon Burns can shoot from the perimeter. She hit three 3-pointers in a 53-50 overtime win at Watertown last Friday and led the team with 17 points. On Tuesday, she led the team with 15 points on five 3-pointers in a 53-40 win over Wolcott.

Sparking a comeback

Woodland senior captain Eliza Smith didn’t let a little thing like a 12-0 deficit phase her last Friday. She had 23 points to lead the Hawks to a thrilling, come-from-behind 56-47 win over Torrington.
