Robert A. Cole Baseball League announces sign-ups

BEACON FALLS — Sign-ups for spring season of the Robert A. Cole Baseball League and girls’ softball start next week.

Registration will be held Feb. 10, Feb. 12 and Feb. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sign-ups will be held near the gym at Laurel Ledge School, 30 Highland Ave.

Peter J. Foley holding registration

NAUGATUCK — Peter J. Foley Little League has announced registration dates for the spring 2015 season.

Registration can be done Feb. 12, Feb. 19 and Feb. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Feb. 14, Feb. 21 and Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All registration session are at the Peter J. Foley Clubhouse on Andrew Avenue.

Boys and girls born between May 1, 2002 and Dec. 31, 2011 are eligible to play baseball. Players must reside on the west side of Naugatuck.

New players should bring a birth certificate and proof of residency to registration.
The fee for Major and Minor Leagues is $90 per player. The fee for Farm League is $70. The maximum registration fee per family is of $140. The fees do not include an additional $25 mandatory fundraiser per player.

Hawks hosting awareness game

BEACON FALLS — When the Woodland boys basketball team plays Watertown Feb. 10, the Hawks will be taking the court for more than a game.

The boys basketball program is hosting the Woodland Awareness Game. Collections will be taken during the game to help a family in need. The Hawks will be collecting donations in memory of Karen DePalma, who died in 2012 after a battle with cancer, and for her husband, Joe DePalma, who is currently fighting cancer.

The game tips off at 7 p.m.
